Lola is an absolute joy, so perky and funny and affectionate. After a long time sleeping on my bed (I know, I know!) she is now a very good girl and sleeps downstairs. She currently lives with 2 cats, and we have made a lot of progress with their relationship over the past 18months, but she would be better suited to either a cat-free home, or with owners who have the ability or experience to carry out further training with her in this area.
She runs to the door whenever the bell rings, then immediately lies on the sofa so that visitors will give her a fuss! She makes us laugh when I give her a chewy bar or dentistick as she grabs it and runs off at speed to take it to her bed! She has never chewed anything she shouldn't, but does sometimes nick our shoes and take them to her bed too! She does like to bark at the squirrels that run along the back fence when she's in the garden tho.
Her hygiene is great - we only occasionally have the odd wee-accident now, and that has been my fault. One thing I know we are fortunate with is that she is a great traveller. She jumps into the car no problem and snuggles down on her duvet in the boot. On one occasion, she was so chilled, I looked in my rear view mirror to see 4 paws in the air!!I've taken her camping twice and she loved it. She is now fine with other dogs and on one camping trip, she formed a little pack with the 3 other dogs in the group.
I am so, so, sorry to have to let her go....but we have had a great 18months together. If my health and life circumstances were different, I wouldn't even consider letting her go - I would be taking her to Julie's training every week to get the best from her and enable her to eventually go off-lead, maybe?! This is very much my loss and someone else's gain.

Lola (Ashley) is coming back into the Trust as soon as we can accomodate her. Her owner sadly due to circumstances beyond her control, is unable to keep her. We are desperate to find this little girl a home to go straight to so she doesn't come back into the kennels. If you are interested, please give me a call.

Well, we've been together now for about 6 weeks(?). Lola is just adorable, everyone who meets her falls in love with her. We have lots of cuddles as often as possible and I'm really enjoying going for walks with her, until she does her 'freeze' act! Still haven't got to the bottom of it, but am working around it at the mo. HOWEVER, making progress with the cats has been very hard indeed, mainly because they just choose to keep out of the way by staying out. So it is almost impossible to reward her for responding well! And although at least my cats are safe, I feel very guilty and upset that their lives have been turned upside down, and not for the better. Still, I have been reading a lot and have hope that relations could still be salvaged in time. So I'll just keep on doing my best. Right now she's snuggled up on a duvet, out for the count! What greys do best!! xx

We had a lovely day today......2 lovely long walks, still a bit 'all over the shop' in the park, but fantastic on the paths. I could see her visibly slowing down when I said 'heel'. I was really pleased with her. And a number of times she was walking so nicely, I thought she'd slipped the lead!! One scary moment when she pelted down the garden path and chased a neighbour's cat, which luckily got away quickly. Oh and she responds really well to a firm 'no!' if she's sniffing around food that she shouldn't be (eg my toast, cat's food, a biscuit!) xx

We're so pleased to hear it's going well for you Lola, you waited quite a long time for your home, so you deserve it! Willow and I are still working on our "walking-to-heel-on-the-lead" routine, some days are definitely better than others!! Lola will really start to enjoy visiting Grandma and Grandpa's house where she will no doubt be spoilt rotten! Willow enjoys an afternoon cup of tea at my Mum's (LOTS of milk, but no sugar, thank you!), not to mention all sorts of other goodies!

Oh my goodness! WHAT a steep learning curve! Apparently we are both as bad as each other walking on the lead, but we are practising hard and our technique is improving! Tomorrow we are getting some help with our canine-feline relations, as things are seemigly getting worse. However, Lola is a joy to be with! We went to the picnic at Waseley and got a lot of help & support there and within the afternoon she became more tolerant of other dogs. At home, it is mutual adoration and she is affectionate and playful. We visited my parents today and she had a great time - made herself very at home! Will feedback after tomorrow's events!

Lola is a complete sweetie! Really affectionate, fun and playful. Fizz and Jingo the cats are not as enamoured yet (!) Toileting has been superb! She was as good as gold on her first night but last night she took her chances with the stairs and, being shattered, I didn't fancy wrestling her back down at 12.15am. So she ended up on my bed (I know! I know!) So today we are focusing on 'NO!' and installing a stairgate. In fact, as I type, she is lying in my bed, head on the pillow! Cheeky girl! Hoping to see you this afternoon at the picnic. more installments to follow........! xx

Ashley is being overlooked and there is no reason why she should be. she is a good little girl and well behaved on the lead, i walked her and Lena and my two greys all at the same time and she was as good as gold. with a bit of socialisation with other breeds when she meets them she'll be a great little companion so hopefully someone will see all the possibilities in her soon and give her a loving home. xxx
