Quick up date on Berry, she continues to be a very good girl, haven't heard a bark or whine since she came here. Having more, controlled, contact with the cats and is getting better, she is just curious. Have'nt had to use the crate at all as she is so laid back! Loves the company of my greys, especially Pippa!

Berry spent the day at the kennels with us and is now fast asleep on the rug in the lounge, she is being so good although she does show an interest in the cats when they are outside and running around, going to try a bit of cat training over the next couple of days.

I have a massive, massive lump in my throat, and some tears too. Love you berry, you are gorgeous darling, hope you have a really deserving home very very soon sweetheart. I wish we could have you - so very very sorry, lots of love to you baby. XXXXX

poor baby good luck finding a new home i taken on a grey with the same problems u have and he is such a loving boy most things can be sorted out with time please dont let a little thing like separation anxiety put u off with help off ruth and other ppl it can be sorted hope u find a loving home soon baby girl

Brought Berry home with me tonight to re cat test her, so far so good, she has met the cats and showed no interest, will see how she gets on over night. She has just eaten her dinner and is settling.

Poor Berry, she has had my cuddle today. It's been over a year since knew her, but she was a sweet friendly girl who really enjoyed the company of my two. Things may well have changed since then, but she used to get anxious when left even for a short time, although she was the only pet back then. She wasn't cat friendly, otherwise I would have taken her when I knew her - I was very tempted anyway! The right home is out there for you lovely girl xxx

Separation anxiety and other things can be cured and/or managed with work, patience and love .. poor Berry she must be so confused with all these changes in her life :( Hope she gets a forever home soon. J x

we had big anxiety issues when we had our beautiful cara initally and at times still working through them. If you put the time in and alot of love and patience and help from ruth and everybody who uses the comment board who have been through what your grey is going through, help and good advice is always on hand. Berry your forever home is out there be patient little girl xxxx

this really is breaking my heart, she is such a sweet little girl and through no fault of her own she keeps bouncing back to the kennels, 4 homes in her short life is far too many and i hope that the next home will be the one where she will be able to stay for good....good luck little Berry xxxx

From memory, she is cat friendly. She currently lives with a small dog and goes off the lead. Her owner used to be at home all the time and circumstances have changed where she is having to be left. I am happy to support anyone who would like to help her with regard to her separation anxiety. Let's hope her next home is 5th time lucky.....

Was she returned from a home where she was a single dog or left on her own for long periods of time? Do you find greys are less likely to suffer from separation anxiety if they live with another dog? Wishing her well xxx

Sadly Berry is being returned for the 4th time tomorrow. She has developed severe separation anxiety and her owner is now unable to keep her.

Hi Mandy, I will try to explain......
Berry was returned for the first time due to her owner having a son with special needs and finding it hard to have a dog as well.
The second time she was returned again because the family were also having difficulties in keeping her.
Her last owner had health problems but also said she had been messing in the house.

Nesta (Suzie Bluebells owner) kindly took her for a few days to help Berry and in this time found her gentle on the lead, not bothered by squirrels etc at the park although a little stressed at night (quite understandable).
I have had to leave Berry at the kennels tonight in the big run but I have just come back from checking on her and she is settled with Tommy and Mel who are also stopping at the kennels tonight.
She unfortunately has been unlucky in finding her forever home just yet but I believe in fate and the right home is out there for her - it is just a matter of Daybreaks helping her to find it x

Little Berry was returned on Monday and promptly went on a short holiday with her Auntie Nesta. She is back today and we are hoping to find her a wonderful forever home.... this little girl really deserves it x

Oh Berry! :-( You can have todays cuddle. You really have no luck. Unfortunately, although we're looking for a bigger house we're only renting and not many places like one dog let along two otherwise I'd come and get you. Me and Roxy normally have a long walk in Sutton park on a Saturday though so if you'd like to come to cheer you up then you're more than welcome. And with the long weekend we can spare plenty of cuddles!

I am glad you are reserved right away Berry as it is so much harder for you to adjust back to kennel life again inspite of the good people looking after you at Daybreaks.

I've just been speaking to Berry's mum - she is absolutely devastated and still in floods of tears about returning her. Berry is a very sweet girl, and the family love her very much, as you can see from chlo's comments below. A combination of circumstances means that Berry may be more settled in another home - please don't judge too harshly without knowing all the facts. I hope you find a home very soon, lovely girl.xx

Nevermind Berry, they are the wrong people for you.
My greyhound Floppy according to Ruth was returned to Daybreaks 3 times before I met him. One day, serendipity (the faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident) knocked. I came to Daybreaks with hubby to buy food supply for my other greyhound Dennis. I told Ruth I was toying with the idea of getting another greyhound but not 100% determined. She showed me Floppy and not convinced I fostered him. It turned out to be the best decision of my life. Floppy had some issues with trust (could not blame him after being returned 3 times, lol). But with patience and constant reassurance, he turned out to be the sweetest dog ever (Dennis would not mind, he prouds himself as a zany character,lol).
One day, Berry...a true dog's best friend will come for you. You'll see! ;-)

I feel so bad 4 this girl. When she was brought back she wouldn't get out the car, when we got her out she tried to get back in. Then she didn't want to go into the kennels, she new what was happening again & she doesn't deserve it & it isn't her fault. She wouldn't eat & hid in the corner of her kennel. Please is there someone who can give her a forever home, she's been through so much & she's not even 3. Good luck berry. X

just like Ruth i find it heartbreaking to see these lovely hounds returned as if they are just some thing that can be dumped at will...i have had various problems with two of my boys and it has been hard work at times but never ever did it enter my mind to send them back, it takes some patience and training and we do tell people that it's not going to be all plain sailing, at least i do when i do my home visits but it seems that some people just don't want to take advice and rather give up. Berry is gorgeous and she will find a home soon and keep fingers crossed its for keeps this time. xxxx

I cannot believe we have yet another returnee. Poor Berry has been returned for the second time. I find it so upsetting that people do not want the advice we can offer to help overcome problems. It saddens me desperately that these beautiful dogs, that should be a part of someones family, can be so easily disposed of.

Berry is settling in well in to her new home and loves all the attention. She is a wonderful dog and all the family are really enjoying her being around.

I'll vouch for the fact that she has a wonderful family! I'm looking forward to meeting her tomorrow.

Berry arrived back at the kennels as i arrived this morning and by the time i went home this afternoon she had found her new home and went again. lovely to see you Berry alas just for a flying visit, i am delighted to see you with a wonderful new family already. xxxx
