Hi Sylv - Twiggy's vet was on holiday this week, so we have postponed her visit until this Saturday. She is doing great at the moment, no night time accidents and back to her normal bouncy self. So I am hoping this will be her last visit to the vet for a while! How are all your beautiful hounds? Kate x
Thursday 02 Sep 11:08
Hi kate hope Twiggy got on well at the vets and all problems are solved?
Sylv xxx
Tuesday 24 Aug 14:27
Hi kate(Lady V) Hope Twiggy gets on well at the vets next week, I know it takes time to get this under control. I will not be taking the other 16 baby's well if I do I think my hubby will leave home/or claim I'm mad. Sylvxxx
Monday 23 Aug 15:38
Hi Sylv, Twiggy is much better than she was, thanks. Just the occasional accident at night now. She has to go for a check up at the vets next week. Hope you and your growing family are all doing well. Kate xxx
Monday 23 Aug 14:18

Thursday 19 Aug 16:03
How wonderfull mum and daughter back together ! XX
Wednesday 18 Aug 10:37
Mindy's daughter Flo (now Flossie) has joined her mom, but I don't think we can take the other 16 offspring's. You would never think they had been parted.
Sunday 15 Aug 20:23
Hi yes we did get photos of Mindy she looks very settled and looks as if she has lived there for ever. Thank you so much for giving her a home for life - you are more than welcome to come and see us . We have two of her other pups (they
are 4 and 7 now here. One is still running at monmore.
Friday 18 Jun 15:49
Hi Lady Victoria glad to hear its good news about Twiggy once the right balance is found she will be ok.
We will be walking at Kingsbury on Sunday but Mindy may no go to far. Sylv xxx to Twiggy
Friday 18 Jun 13:39
Hi Sylv, glad to hear her front paw is ok, hope it won't be long before the other one is back to normal. Please give her a hug from me. Kate x Ps Twiggy is much better at night now, only one accident in the last two weeks. So pleased for her.
Thursday 17 Jun 18:01
Hi Bullett , L/Victoria & all, Well Mindy went again to the vet's yesterday(Wed.) he say's "he think's he's killed it" that's her front paw, has to go again in 3 weeks still trying to solve the back paw. One will see, corn's are strange things in human's when it comes to dog's, well!!!!!!!!!! SYLV
Wednesday 16 Jun 22:19
How are mindys pads doing - I do think she is a brave lady -
I am sure she is enjoying her life to the full having spent
so long in a kennel - she is a very lucky, lovely (dare I say)
lady!!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday 10 Jun 13:26
Oh Poor Mindy, she and the vet must be on first name terms now! I hope her pads are better soon. xx
Wednesday 09 Jun 21:56
Poor mindy your poor old legs do give you and your mom a few problems - lets hope you get your corns sorted and then have a vet free summer. xxxxxxx
Wednesday 09 Jun 17:11
Well, we are the vet's again today with Mindy, corn's on her pads. I think she 'loves the vet' or may be I've got it wrong,
perhaps its the treats afterwards.
Sylv
Thursday 03 Jun 13:39
Hi Sylv, glad to hear no more trips to the Vet needed for the lovely Mindy! Kind regards Kate and Twiggy x
Saturday 29 May 18:40
Well bullett sedate I don't think is the word with Mindy, she is top dog & leader of the pack, at her age she should be a couch potato anyway, I hope all goes well with her foot & she takes to resting (I don't think so) I agree with you,
Sylv
Saturday 29 May 17:51
Lets hope Mindy can just lead a quiet sedate life like she should be (I have my doubts!!!!!!!!)
Friday 28 May 17:19
Hi Lady Victoria, stitches out & no need to return to vet's(one hopes) it seemed to go on for ever, she seems to have taken it in her stride & being an older lady not concerned by vet's, she even tried to go back & see the vet (may be to thank him or give him a kiss) SYLV.
Friday 28 May 13:09
Hi Sylv, hope everything is fine when the stitches come out today. Be a brave girl Mindy! xx
Thursday 27 May 17:18
Hi bullet & Lady Victoria, Mindy has not had the lamp shade treatment, but the muzzle at night to stop her licking the paw, tomorrow (Fri) again at the vets to take out the stiches , this seems to be going on for ever. SYLV
Thursday 27 May 13:43
Hi Sylv, I have been wondering how the lovely Mindy is this week too. Kate x
Wednesday 26 May 22:18
Has Mindy got a lampshade on? I hope not - give her a big munch from me.
Monday 24 May 09:45
Hi Sylv, many thanks for the information. Sorry to hear you lost Georgie to cancer. The increased dose of Propalin has stopped Twiggy having little accidents in the night, which I am sure must make her feel better. Fortunately she will eat anything and doesn't notice the added Propalin in her food! I am hoping we can reduce the dose a little over a period of time. I hope Mindy gets on well at the vet's today. Kate x
Saturday 22 May 12:03
Hi Bullett, Back to the vet's on Monday, looks like the lamp shade collar but we will see the dressing has to come of some time, you would not believe she had a problem (well that's in her thoughts). SYLV
Saturday 22 May 12:00
Hi Kate, At the start Georgie was on a high dose & slowley reduced. Georgie took the drug 3/4 yrs (until she passed away) they only problem we incured she would not have it on her food. Having since childhood had numerous bithches I had never encountered this problem until Georgie.
Until you can balance as we had too, things will then work out & the wetting problem with be solved but one will incur around £32/35.00 every 3 mnths. But no long term problems.
Georgie 11yrs. when she passed away with cancer. Twiggy will be fine when dosage solved & no more water problems.
SYLV
11 yrs. when she passed away with cancer. SYLV
Friday 21 May 22:31
Hope Mindy niggles soon clear - she certainly is having more than her fair share - at least she has all the love in the world - xxxx
Friday 21 May 13:35
Hi Sylv, Twiggy has been taking Propalin for a while now for the same reason. The vet has advised increasing her daily dose. It's reassuring to hear someone else having encountered the same condition. Did Georgie have any problems with taking Propalin long term? Kate x
Friday 21 May 10:53
Hi Kate, My previous grey (Georgie) had a water works problem, took some time to solve but ended up being a kind of hormonal problem due to being spayed & was on Propalin Syrup(think thats how it was spelt)for the rest of her life. Hope Twiggy goes o.k. & the temperature well we wouldn't like it. SYLV Good weekend to you both (may be get the BQ out while we can)
Friday 21 May 10:08
Hi Sylv, she sounds so lovely, I hope she keeps the dressing on even though it is multi-coloured and probably not good for her street cred!! My Twiggy had to go and see the vet last night. She has been having trouble with wetting the bed, poor lass. Hopefully all sorted now, she was not impressed at having to suffer the indignity of having her temperature taken, but the vet gave her a gravy bone to cheer her up!! Hope you all have a good weekend. Kate & Twiggy xx
Thursday 20 May 17:11
Hi Kate,
One could not wish for a better & lovelier g/hound (so gentle, extremely well behaved & loving) just hope she keeps this new dressing on (what a fashion statement, striped & in three colours)SYLV
Thursday 20 May 13:07
Hi Sylv, I hope she is a good girl! Kate xx
Wednesday 19 May 16:26
Hi All, Sorry change on the Friday visit to the vet's. Had to go this afternoon the dressing started to come off, all is well with the stiches & she now is going again on Monday (all in her hands of course). SYLV
Wednesday 19 May 08:27
Hi Mary & Martin BIG KISSES from you both on the way.
It doesn't seem to be affecting her, she wasn't limping or licking it to bring it to ones attention. More news on Friday.
SYLV & JOHN
Tuesday 18 May 20:21

Tuesday 18 May 13:28

Tuesday 18 May 13:19
Hi sylv, very pleased to hear she is ok. I hope she can be spared the lamp shade collar! I guess she is not ready to be a lady of leisure just yet! Let me know how it all goes on Friday. Kate x
Monday 17 May 17:54
Hi Lady Victoria,
BIG HUG given on your behalf. We all hope to attend K/Water Park on 20th June. Also to get a sausage from Beryl.
SYLV XX
Monday 17 May 12:25
To All, Mindy attended the vet's this morning, all o.k. with the stitches, new dressing & to attend again on Fri. for a further check, otherwise one would not think she had a problem. But on Fri. it may come to a lamp shade collar,(we will see how she reacts) . Otherwise this lady thinks she should still be racing. (She will have to get this out of her mind) & retire to a lovely lady. SYLV & JOHN
Monday 17 May 09:36
Hi Sylv - many thanks for keeping us updated on your lovely lady. I am sure she is gettng lots of TLC, hope it won't be long before she is fit and well. please give her a big hug from me! Kind regards Kate x
Sunday 16 May 22:21

Love to the old gal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! special lady
Saturday 15 May 12:15
Mindy came home in a drowsy state after having her only good leg out of four stiched having cut it between the toes. Has it bandaged & only in the garden until checked on Monday. The vet also looked at the dew claw, not a lot could be done but was clipped shorter.
Friday 14 May 16:16
Just been informed by the vet's that Mindy has come round and to pick her up at around 5.30, seems all o.k. but will keep all informed more on seeing her.
SYLV
Thursday 13 May 16:07
Thank's to Lady Victoria will let all know tomorrow.
SYLV
Wednesday 12 May 15:15
Poor Mindy! I hope all goes well at the vet's on Friday. xx
Wednesday 12 May 13:05
Had to go to the vet's today (with Minty for her booster) but overnight noticed a problem with Mindy's back paw (not the problem dew) well it appears it has to be stiched will take place on Fri., and the problem with the dew claw will be either solved or not as being done at the same time.
SYLV
Tuesday 11 May 16:29
We will be attending K/bury Water park on June 20th hope to see you all, know Beryl will be there with her sausages.
SYLV
Tuesday 11 May 14:32
It is so lovely to hear how happy she is! Kind regards Kate x
Monday 10 May 12:57
Hi Bullett What can one say about a lovely lady, she came to D/breaks on blood day & gained a ball without donating, she has come on leap's & bounds (leads is the word, when you get the lead for walkies) har leg's may be old & her dew claw a problem but she still has exceptonal leaping ability & so gentle. Please do not give up on the older g/hounds, they will repay you. Beryl came for our final h/check a few day's ago & got a kissSSSS. ( squeak is stil in ball at present)
Sylv
Sunday 09 May 19:08
Hows mindy - is she still behaving?
Tuesday 04 May 13:43
Great to meet Martin on Pet Blood Bank day at the trust, sorry Mary not there but I hope they are both assured she will be fine.
Sylv
Wednesday 28 Apr 16:27
Have forwarded a pictrue of Mindy's help, not sure if its gone through o.k.
She may be an old lady but can still dig.
Monday 26 Apr 16:33
Glad to hear you have got plenty of "help" in the garden! If you need a good digger, I have one you can borrow! xx
Monday 26 Apr 15:19
Its a shame Mindy cannot take to painting as well, although Minty(ex Vera) keeps running and hiding the brush if she gets the chance.(Will see if John can post a photo to Ruth)
Saturday 24 Apr 13:15
Hope Mindy has lots of lovely lazy days in the garden with
her busy dad. Glad she has found a home for life.
Thursday 22 Apr 11:32
With the better weather & John's retirement, I have course set him to work at the moment painting the shed & fixing a new fence, Mindy's taken to lying up the garden most of the day with him & in the sun.
Thursday 15 Apr 11:23
Hi Bullett, Mindy's dew claw I think is going to be a problem for sometime as it's cracked right near to the top, so will have to grow out,I'm covering it with a melonin pad and vetrap at the moment so she does not catch it again. Otherwise she's great and such fun, realy coming out of her shell, although the boss to Minty.
Sylv
Wednesday 14 Apr 20:53
How is Mindy getting on with her dew claw - apart from that is she behaving still?
Friday 09 Apr 12:08
Mindy's dew claw still a problem. We have taken in my sister's bird while away this weekend, Mindy not taken kindly to the cockatiel, so having to put Mo in the spare bedroom, glad my sister is back on Tuesday.Minty fine with it.As one say's never a dull moment.
Thursday 08 Apr 22:29
Hows Mindy - never a dull moment with her!!!!!!
Send her a big munch xxxxxx
Tuesday 06 Apr 14:54
John's back, one will have to see how things go with the dew claw, given antibiotics & pain killers, may come to more if this does not work (to remove permanently).
Tuesday 06 Apr 13:21
John has just taken Mindy to vet's has a bad problem with her dew claw,( alway's dislike them) it happened this morning she was having her activity time.
Monday 05 Apr 10:18
Hi Bullett, Mindy doing fine more into pigs ears than Easter eggs. Every time John moves she thinks she's going for a walk. But what a character & keeps Mindy in her place. I think she think she's only 3/4 years old not her real age.
Sunday 04 Apr 20:50
Hope Mindy is behaving herself and not pinching too many easter eggs - I should imagine she is a little thief given the chance!!!!!!!!
Saturday 27 Mar 13:21
Our love to Mary & Martin, Mindy is such a lovely lady and will be loved, you looked after so well and she will miss your cuddles, but will get extras from us on your behalf.

Saturday 13 Mar 14:51
Aahh Mindy at long last a reserved sign for you lovely little lady. i am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be your forever home and that you will settle in soon. xxxx
Wednesday 17 Feb 21:40
i wish i would not have to work full time and that i would be in a position to have another grey because she is so lovely, she really would be a jewel to have in one's life and she so deserves a bit of happiness in her retirement days. Ina xxx
Wednesday 10 Feb 18:36
How is the very beautiful mindy getting on at her foster home, I think about her every day, I log on to the website and just hope that someone falls in love with her, she reminds me so much of our very much loved 'rosie' who we lost last july, (still hurts very much) we are not ready yet but maybe in time!!!
Monday 25 Jan 21:20
i bumped into mindy,s foster mom in mell square on sat- if i didn,t already have 2 greys oh and a cat i would have had her - we were so sad she had been returned as we saw her jst b4 xmas- plse somebody give her a chance she is such a sweetie although i have to say i think she is very loved by mary and martin,
Monday 25 Jan 17:25
Mindy has been with us for such a long time now and at her age she really does deserve a home of her own. Mary and Martin are doing such a great job fostering her and she is now a fully house trained couch potato who has the sweetest grey face and she really loves to cuddle up to you. someone out there give her a chance, she will be such a wonderful girl to own. Ina x
Sunday 24 Jan 21:30
So many beautiful greys at Daybreaks, maybe thats why this lovely older lady gets overlooked. If you have a younger grey already I would think this well mannered girl would complement the young un!
like my 2 7 year olds keep Cara aged 3 in check and teach her how to be chilled couch potatoe!!!
Please someone give her a chance, I would have her in a heartbeat so hubby is looking worried again!
i have had to promise to wait for a while, but just look at her ahhh x
Tuesday 19 Jan 08:17
mindy is good with children living with four greys at the moment not good with small dogs.house trained now, loves going for her walks generally a lovely girl needing a nice home.mary/martin
Wednesday 13 Jan 16:21
I really want her, but my husband is adamant that 3 dogs would be too much. Maybe our home would be too noisy for her...the right home is out there, but I still feel really sad about it...
Tuesday 12 Jan 22:50
Someone could make a lovely older girl so happy (no not Ruth, but she would be happy to!!!) by giving this sweet girl a home. Please don't overlook her any longer, my Dylan would love her but he is henpecked by 2 big girls already!!!
A man can only take so much! x
Sunday 10 Jan 02:44
It's 2:30am and I can't sleep thinking about this beautiful lady! I don't work long hours, which would be great and she'd have 2 doggy brothers to play and snuggle with, but, does she get on with other breeds and how is she with children? I have 2 boys 7 & 8, who are brilliant with the dogs, but are quite busy. I'm wondering if Mindy needs a quiet house or if the noise and busyness wouldn't bother her. If someone could answer these questions it would be great, so I know if I need to start working on my husband or not!
Saturday 09 Jan 15:04
isn't there someone out there who is at home a lot and would like the company of this lovely girl? she is now fully housetrained and will reward her new owner with lots of love and affection.x
Friday 08 Jan 22:32
someone please give this little lass a home, and lots of love and hopefully she will live a long and happy life and give her new owner as much joy as our 3 have. Good Luck baby x
Thursday 07 Jan 14:15
mindy has now cracked the house training, she is such a sweet girl now needs a home, she loves company so don't think she should be left for long times but loves her walks.she got her feet under your table alright.mary and martin
Sunday 03 Jan 20:43
I have 2 big girls and a sweet little old boy and to be very honest 1 or 3 its all the same to me, they spend most of the day lying in a row snoozing (like me now I am retired!!!) And now we have bigger beds for them hubby who pretends its me with the Grey thing going on, said "there's room for a couple more on there now!" Watch it Ruth we are after your record of 6 LOL X
Sunday 03 Jan 15:33
Buddy - Mindy is not very big at all and i have got 3 very big male greys in a normal semi and it's no problem, they can make themselves quite small as you already know , no doubt. good luck at persuading other half!!! xxx
Sunday 03 Jan 13:54
I shouldn't ask, my sensible hubby says 3 dogs would be too much, especially as Buddy is on the large size, but... how big is she and how is she with other breeds?
Friday 01 Jan 18:57
i love this little girl and i am so happy that she is doing well with her training, hopefully we shall be able to find her a forever home soon, she does deserve it so very much. xxx
Wednesday 30 Dec 21:26
oh Mindy, I log on every day to see how all the grey's are, but you have to be my big big love, I wish I could have you.

sit in front of and have loads of treats.
Friday 25 Dec 15:32
Oh sweetheart, that is SUCH a shame you're back here. You're such a sweetie, it's so good you're okay in a foster home, but I really do hope you find your forever home soon. Trust me, I'll be working on the parents.

Its so sad to hear Mindy is back, Preston would love her to be his big sister, I just have to work on Alex!!
I hope she finds a forever home soon. xxx
Thursday 24 Dec 13:15
her owners were having trouble with toilet training. However after a few days with the fabulous Martin and Mary who are fostering her, she is doing fantastic and had no accidents yesterday. All she needs is routine and plenty of opportunities to toilet. As she has lived in a kennel for such a long time she needs a home to call hers.....
Thursday 24 Dec 12:45
oh no, logged in to give tara a cuddle and it's broken my heart to see you back. Hope they had good reasons for your return, I cant believe anyone would be cruel enough otherwise. Lots of cuddles to you Mindy, am sure you will be loved and cherished and will find your home soon, wish we could have youxxxxxxxx
Thursday 24 Dec 10:15
so shocked to see Mindy is back at kennels-have been watching her story since November, so very sad. Perhaps Toby would like a big sister!

Monday 16 Nov 09:36

Friday 13 Nov 09:27
she really is a beauty, I wish we could have her, for anyone who is thinking she is 8 let me say that she will be nothing like hard to care for and have at home, as lovemygreys said, just a tummy tickle, food and comfort is all thats needed, and love costs nothing...think of what you would get in return from her, lower blood pressure and someone who is unconditionally happy to see you whenever you return home after a hard days work!! hope she is snapped up soonxxx
Thursday 12 Nov 10:07
She is so beautiful, I wish we had the room but we dont really, despite my cow eyes at John, we just havent. I hope someone somewhere see's Mindy and can give her the home she deserves, bless herx

The old girls are the best!!! speaking for myself! all we need is a kiss and cuddle the occasional tummy rub and lots of nice things to eat lying on a comfy warm bed, and this lovely grey girl deserves the best. someone give her a chance. Two of mine are 7 years old and they have been great teaching the young un Cara (pearl) the "ropes"

She was sent to Ireland after her racing career for breeding and had 10 pups in one litter and 7 in another. They all raced. She also had 100 races. She deserves a good home and to be loved to bits.

I took the decision to leave Mindy at the kennels last night with Babe before she got too used to us..... it broke my heart to leave her - she watched me through the window...... I am sure someone will fall in love with this little old greyhound lady very soon.

She had a comfortable night (apart from being sick at 3am this morning). She is making herself at home and found she likes the window seat with all the cushions. She is beautiful. She is the mum of Monkspath Evie who we homed a few years ago and she had a visit from Evie's owners last night who also thought she was beautiful.
I hope someone will give her a lovely home for the last few years of her life and not look past the fact that she is an oldie at 8 years.

Good news Kate with Twiggy, as for our girls one would think they have have always been with us, they get on so well but of course Mindy is top dog and keeps the other two in order. Mindy's off to the vet's in the next few day's for another check on her corns, they go on for ever although we seen to be getting near to the end of the problem for the moment. Sylv xxx
