I heard a few days ago that Lola (Lass as was) has been accepted as a Pets as Therapy dog.
She continues to be an absolute darling as she has been since the first day we brought her home. We will always consider ourselves very lucky that she chose us to be her mum and dad. xxx

My clever girl passed her Good Citizen Bronze test on Saturday. She has a lovely rosette and certificate. I am so very proud of her xxx

Thank you all so much for your thoughts. It really is like joining a big warm family when you rehome a grey from Daybreaks. Apart from that she looks a bit patchwork now with her hair clipped off in places Lola is far better tonight than we thought she would be. She is a bit sore in places - you can just see she moves and then thinks ... ouch...maybe not...but she has been for a walk as normal, barked at a cat and ate her dinner with the antibiotics in! I've stopped replaying the incident in my head now thank goodness but think I will be more wary when I take her out on my own which is about 3 mornings in a week. Paul is such a calm person and is much better at taking things in his stride. Tomorrow is just me & Lola so I will take a big deep breath & think happy thoughts as we head out the door......Wishing all of you and your beautiful boys & girls lots of love & hugs Linda, Paul & Lola xx

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I will tell Lola she has had some lovely messages. Her daddy is at home with her this afternoon as I was with her this morning. She has some big pills to take starting this evening so it will be sardines twice a day until they are all gone!

Lola's day started well with a 3rd in the Prettiest Bitch class I was so proud of her! Unfortunately the day ended on not such a good note as my sweet gentle girl was attached last night while we were out walking and we ended up at the vets. She was on lead and ironically we were only round the corner from home and a Dogue de Bordeaux flew off a house drive and attacked. It could have been a lot worse but she has a bite on her bottom and another puncture wound on her right hind leg just below the hock, plus some other scratches on the inside of her back legs where this mastiff grabbed round her back end with his claws as well as his jaws. Luckily Paul was there to physically haul the dog off Lola. She is on antibiotics and had a bit of a slow start this morning. Vet thought she might show lame today but she just looks a bit stiff/sore. She has always been so good with all other dogs and we are keeping everything crossed that this experience won't change that. Culprit's owner mortified btw and has paid our vet bill. It's a rescue dog and I know she is careful with it when out on lead as we see them walking in the mornings. I can only hope owner has learned from this mistake and this dog isn't left loose like that again. It was terrifying for all of us.

Nice to meet up with you again and see how well Lola has come along, she was golden walking with Fay.

Well what a washout !- I felt so sorry for the organisers today.

Mind you the sun did come out after you left- when there was only about 3 events left !!. (Someone up above is having a laugh at our expense (lol))

Fay took 1st in the Best Rescue Greyhound category so we were pleased we persevered with the weather.

Maybe we will see you again at the perry Barr meeting in October.

Hi Buddy! That's fantastic that they are so closely related.....maybe they knew? All that tail wagging and they certainly were very friendly with each other - just like a family reunion! We've looked through lot's of photos on the intenet and there's definitely features you can see running through and your boy is very handsome. Don't know if anyone will read this now she is rehomed but I just want to let any readers know that this little girl (we call her Lola now) is an absolute treasure. We picked her up on Friday 28th May and she has been as good as gold. Totally clean in the house and has taken everything in her stride - and boy has she packed it in over the Bank Holiday weekend. She even went to a horse show on BH Monday (where much to her delight she met another greyhound - how happy did she look!!??!!)
The fact that we have her is most definitely our gain but what a big loss for all those who walked past her little grey face and didn't choose her!

Your new granddad is busy with his paintbrush putting the finishing touches to your bedroom and your new dad has spent hours in the garden upside down under the hedge with his roll of chicken wire to stop any pesky cats coming in to annoy you. So pleased to see the reserved sign for Lass. The second pic of her shows her with our Roxy (Razzle as she was) and they were lovely kennelled together. It's always made me feel so sad that she hadn't found a home yet as she seemed a real sweetheart.

Lass is gorgeous and has really caught my heart, i would take her home in a flash! she loves having a play with you in the run and walks beautifully on her walks. Then its back to the sleepy easy life of the greyhound, lots of cuddles and lots of sleep! I love her!!

i can only agree with Chloee's comment, she is a lovely little girl and sooo friendly. yes she has a grey face but it adds to her character, two of my black boys have the same grey markings in their face, typical for the 'Honcho' line and they look ever so handsome. Lass is a cutie and has so much love to give, please give this little lady the chance of happiness in a home of her own. xxx

Please will someone give this smashing little girl a home, she deserves it, she was always such a good girl when she lived in the kennels where I work. Its so sad that no one has give her a chance to be a great companion. So please look passed the grey on her face and you will see a young little girl wanting someone to love. Chloe.

i have a 16yr old lurcher just now,so don't think she would accept a new housemate.or i would love to take her.
