Thursday 16 Jun 13:48
Hi Fi, sorry to hear Charlie has had to have more treatment on his pad; I hope it will be ok this time. He was obviously not impressed about going back to the vet and left a little message or two or three...! Twiggy has also done a wee on the vet's floor, she just couldn't resist that big plant they have by the door! Please give Charlie a hug from us. xx
Wednesday 15 Jun 20:51
Hi kate, it was lovely to meet you and twiggy too bless her! Charlie has had no ill effects from the bone but he has been back in the vets today to get another op on his pad cos it isn't healing very well :o( my poor little lad out of spite he did 3 little wee wees on the vets floor when I picked him up this afternoon bless him. He's a bit wobbly and sorry for himself but seems ok xxxxx
Tuesday 14 Jun 13:39
Hi Fi, it was very nice to meet you briefly at the vet's last week. Sorry Twiggy was not very sociable with your two lovely hounds which is a great pity as I would love to have met them. I do hope Charlie's paw is better soon and he has no ill effects from eating the bone. Kind regards Kate and grumpy pants, but my little angel Twiggy! xx
Monday 13 Jun 21:32
Thanks everyone, so far he seems ok so far. He's at the vets twice a week with his leg at the moment anyway so an appointment is never far away xxx
Monday 13 Jun 14:03
Fay is one for finding food while we are out. One time she walked all the way home carrying a Lamb bone. Another time she picked up a quarter of a orange. I am becoming an expert at getting tasty scraps from Fays mouth before she has a chance to enjoy them.
Monday 13 Jun 13:04
Ha, ha Julie, yes, why is it that Grey owners examine their dogs' poo so much. I remember the first time I walked Gent, I had to extend my arm to the fullest length to pick it up and boy did I wrinkle my nose. These days, I'm like Gillian McKeith I study it so much!! Hope Charlie is okay Fi. Gent ate a whole squirrel once and we couldn't catch him to get it off him. I tried to reassure myself by thinking that in the wild, dogs would eat what they caught (small bones included), but I did keep a close eye on him for any small signs that something might be wrong. He was absolutely fine thoughand wondered what all the fuss was about! Mand x
Monday 13 Jun 08:17
Hi Fi
The problem with any cooked bones is that they splinter where raw bones usually don't, just keep an eye on him and his poos (favourite topic for grey owners anyway :) ) and if he seems uncomfortable or strains but nothing appears or there's blood etc etc I'd get him to a vet asap. Having said that my Tig once passed a piece of wire with no ill effects so I'm sure he'll be fine :) If he does it again I'd been told feeding as much bread as they'll eat can help cushion the bones sharp edges as it goes through them but check with your vet :)
Best wishes Julie
Sunday 12 Jun 22:14
Hey Fi, Toby worried me when he did this the first time - he actually stole a chicken bone out of our bin !! He chomped it and it was gone b4 i cud do anything - he's so naughty x x x I worried for days waiting 4 it to "pass" but it didn't - that was about 10 months ago or so ! As long as Charlie is eating and his other end is working then I wudn't be concerned hon !! x x x
Sunday 12 Jun 21:57
Thanks sara, he was very pleased with himself!! Fly then dragged me across the grass so he could hunt himself some scraps...but I was wise to it by then. It does annoy me people littering full stop, and glass everywhere, I never noticed how much glass is everywhere until I had the boys! I hope he is ok, seems fine so I'll stop worrying. Hope you are ok lovely xxx
Sunday 12 Jun 20:51
Hi Fi. Cracker n now Charlie hav been hunting kfc for years now. They kno where the local one is n pass it daily usually picking up scraps as they go. I try t look out 4 bones b4 they c them but most times they've eaten them b4 I realise. Up til now they've never had any bad effects in fact they very much enjoy the fact they've found there own food n seem very chuffed with themselves. I'm sure Charlie is just as pleased with himself n will do it nxt time he gets chance. I do wish people wud put the bones in the bin tho, it'll save havin t worry. X
Sunday 12 Jun 19:02
Hi everyone... Whilst out on our walk this afternoon I think charlie may have eaten a small chicken wing bone, someone had dumped a kfc box in the grass and charlie got to it before I even noticed and ate something!!! This was about 2 hours ago and he seems ok and has eaten his tea and is asleep! Should I be worried? He hasn't choked or anything but I am a bit worried xxx
Friday 03 Jun 21:13
Charlie jad his check up today and his foot is healing really really well! Even the vet commented on what a good boy he is as he just lay on the table and let the vet get on with it. What a little star I have xxxxx
Saturday 28 May 18:03

Friday 27 May 21:20
Bless him.... guess I am too used to having dogs after an op.... don't worry Fi, he will be ok. Best not to bother him too much - let him rest, try him with some food tomorrow and by tomorrow he will be bouncing back to normal..... give me a call if you are worried x Wrap him up, keep him warm and as quiet as possible x
Friday 27 May 21:09

Very sad for you all. Kind reagrds xx
Monday 27 Sep 10:52
Hi Fay's Mom & Dad. I expect you are feeling pretty low but just want to say chins up and at least you can be sure that you gave it your best shot. Having met Fay's dad on a couple of occasions we know you had been thinking hard about a friend for Fay so you will be very disappointed. Don't be put off as I'm sure that you will find the right one in time. We have Lena on trial and while things look good at the moment we are very mindful that it's early days and things can change. Agree with Donna also that the time Glynn has spent with you also gives him an advantage for potential owners. Love from Linda, Paul & the 2 black girls x
Sunday 26 Sep 22:44
Awww, never mind, another home will come along soon.x.
Sunday 26 Sep 22:13
Hey faydad you gave him a fair chance, and thats what matters. He obviously wants to be an only boy. Its difficult but i am sure Ruth will find him a good home and you have paved the way for his next owners. With best regards Donna
Sunday 26 Sep 16:28
Poor Glynn sorry to see you back at the kennels today. I hope you will find a home of your own soon.xxxxxxxxx
Sunday 26 Sep 13:29
Feeling absolutely gutted today. Decided to return Glynn.....
What a beautiful , intelligent, gentle, and playful dog he is. We returned him because our existing dog is way too timid to handle Glynn's enthusiasm and bullishness (behaving like a typical dog !), and is slowly being forced out of her own house by Glynn's domineering nature.(I think he waged Psychological warfare on her as he certainly hasn't displayed any nastiness) In the 2 weeks we have had him he has settled in really well as part of the family and has not shown any aggression at all (even when manhandled into the bath, trod on & generally pushed and pulled about the place). I would happily trust him alone in the house with my 11 year old.
PLEASE could someone give Glynn a home - he is easily house trained, & would be a wonderful addition to a family with or without kids to love and entertain him-( but without another dog).Don't be put at by his bare bum - that's down to being in the kennels and immediately started growing back once he relaxed in our home.
Sunday 26 Sep 12:32
oh no!!! Why are you back Glynn???
Thursday 23 Sep 13:41
How sweet he is giving Fay his toys, he can't fail to melt her heart! xx
Thursday 23 Sep 08:30
All looking good so far. Glynn is settling in well. He is so full of life and wants to investigate everything. He supervises everything that we do and makes sure that it is done right. The last couple of days he seems to have calmed down a little bit and is more content to lounge on his bed. Fay is taking her time deciding if she wants a brother but I think that she is slowly coming around to the idea especially as he tries so hard by presenting her with toys and trying to lie by the side of her. They both greet you in the morning wagging their tails and smiling at you. I think they are both trying to out smile each other.
Tuesday 14 Sep 10:11
Glyn looks so happy, well done gorgeous boy for finding a loving home xxx
Saturday 11 Sep 17:47
I am absolutely delighted to read an email from Mike and Elaine who have got Glynn on trial. I have attached the photos and they show how relaxed he is. Just worried perhaps that his duvet is possibly not being enough!!!
Saturday 11 Sep 13:38
Wow, super, outstanding!!! A little teat of joy flows down my face to know that Glynn has now in a home! I know he will be a great pet! I can now sleep easy again! Well done Daybreak, you guys are simply the best! Well done faydad for taking on this gorgeous dog!
Saturday 11 Sep 08:46
Well Ist day over and Glynn appears to be settling in well- We are doing our best to persuade him to stop 'marking' everything he walks by in the house and we've had to evict him from our new leather suite on several occasions- main thing is he & Fay seem to be getting along ok.
His appetite and interest in everything that moves seems to have returned with a vengeance !
Friday 10 Sep 18:56
